Grades 6-8 MyWorld Social Studies: World Geography

The new myWorld Interactive encourages homeschool students from diverse populations to explore their world, expand their thinking, and engage with instructional shifts suggested by the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards. The instructional design balances direct instruction, hands-on practice, robust resources, and scaffolded reading support.

Built in partnership with educators, myWorld Interactive Social Studies applies the latest research and technology to effectively engage homeschool students in social studies through civic involvement and literacy. Homeschool students will learn about their world while covering the core social studies standards. A highly flexible blend of print and digital materials maximizes student learning and homeschool instruction time.

Online resources include interactives, videos, more primary sources, biographies, activities, assessments, and e-texts in English and Spanish. Teacher resources are only available on the digital platform and include a wealth of helpful resources including a full teacher guide with lesson plan summaries; editable student worksheets, quizzes, and chapter tests; additional articles, links, news sources; and other general resources such as graphic organizers, maps, and correlations to national standards. Answers are found in the Teacher Edition e-text or more conveniently under each chapter or topic section. Students do not have access to answers. The online platform functions as a teacher and student portal. Parents will set up the account and then, as teacher, they will oversee assigning the students work to access from the student’s portal.
